About The Opportunity:

The successful candidate will possess a strong foundation in tax legislation and will be responsible for providing expert advice to our diverse portfolio of clients and have the opportunity to build out a newly formed department.
 
About The Role:
 
Joining as a Tax Manager, you will be providing tax compliance and advisory services to a portfolio of clients, operating across various industries.
 
This role will involve:
  • Tax Advisory Services: Provide strategic tax planning advice and guidance to clients across a range of sectors, considering their specific circumstances and commercial objectives.
  • Tax Compliance: Ensure clients' tax affairs comply with statutory time limits. This includes the preparation and submission of tax returns and computations, carrying out tax audits, and managing HMRC communications.
  • Research and Development: Stay updated with the latest changes in tax legislation and case law, including the implications for planning opportunities. Managing R&D claims for current clients whilst developing processes for more automation and efficiency
  • Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their business operations and needs to provide appropriate solutions.
  • Business Development: Contribute to the firm’s growth by identifying and developing new client relationships and opportunities.
  • Risk Management: Identify potential risks and deliver appropriate solutions. Ensure all activities and operations are performed in compliance with regulations and laws governing business operations.
  • Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with the other departments to ensure a seamless service to clients and ensure their tax planning is integrated with their broader financial planning.
  • Training and Development: Share tax knowledge with team members and contribute to their development. You may also be required to participate in mentoring or training new staff.
You will be integral to the practice’s continued expansion and will receive ongoing training by working closely with the senior management to help deliver the strategy.
 
About The Applicant:

  • Experience with Xero accounting software is advantageous
  • Must have a relevant qualification (ATT/CTA) or equivalent with experience managing junior team members
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in a tax advisory role within a professional services firm
  • Extensive knowledge of UK tax legislation and practice
  • Proven ability to manage a client portfolio effectively
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills
  • Possesses strong problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and organisational skills
The role may involve travel to several different client locations, so access to a vehicle is essential.
